Yoni Yoga

What is the correct size?

Yoni eggs come in all sizes. That's great, because every woman is different. But which size suits you best, and how do you find out? You may also want to use a larger or smaller egg for certain exercises. Often (in my opinion) relatively large yoni eggs are sold.

Often (in my opinion) relatively large yoni eggs are sold. The Yoni egg is intended to activate the woman's pelvic floor area and make it more sensitive. Tools such as large dildos, powerful stimulators such as vibrators, and also (too) large things in the vagina can make her less sensitive.

Below is the approximate dimensions of the eggs, of the different sizes. Under product specifications you will find the precise sizes of the egg in question.

XS 2.0 cm 3.0 cm
S 2.5 cm 3.5 cm 8.5 cm

Overview of the different sizes (average, sizes may differ by up to 3mm)

That is why I recommend that when you start working with a Yoni egg, you use an egg that you do not feel extremely comfortable with. You may even not feel the egg at all at first. After you practice with the egg for a while, you will notice that you start to feel it better.

My experience is that for the average woman size M (45x30mm) is fine. If you start with an L, which may be fine for the first few times, then you may be able to get used to it within a few weeks. better switch to M. That would be a waste of your purchase.

Then there are some guidelines that mean it is better to initially start with an L or an S:
– L: Recovery after pregnancy, or women who have not recovered well after pregnancy. Very weak pelvic floor muscles or extreme insensitivity in the vagina.
– S: tight pelvic floor muscles, for example a lot of yoga & vaginismus (possibly XS). Note: In case of vaginismus I would recommend that you initially avoid inserting anything into the vagina.

If you are working with an M and you are not feeling it yet, you can use your imagination in the beginning and imagine where you think you feel the egg. You can check with your finger or the string whether what you think is correct.
As you become more experienced, you will notice that your vagina itself starts to play with the egg, moving it forward, back, left, right, moves up and down. This is the phase in which the vagina is recovering its sensitivity. While she plays with the egg, it stimulates the reflection of the vagina, which is linked to all kinds of emotions. so don't be surprised if frustration, impatience, sadness, fear, resistance or anger arise while you are working with the egg. It helps to move your body based on intuition, as you like. You can do this lying down, but you can also sit (in a meditation position) or dance (to music).
If you use an egg that is too large, it will your vagina reacts passively and withdrawn, and, as it were, 'wait and see' for any action, you do not want to achieve this effect. Your vagina will also not be able to move and move the egg independently in the vagina.

Too big:
You have to push to insert the egg into your vagina. And you have to pull the string to bring it out, you can't do this with your own muscles. The egg is definitely too big if it is difficult to do so with the force of your finger or by pulling on the string, or is even sensitive or painful, while you are excited/open enough to work with the egg.
If the egg is in the area of the pelvic floor muscles (first 5 cm of the vagina), and you can feel it very well or it even feels unpleasant, then the egg is also too big.
A characteristic of an egg that is too large can be that you get menstrual-like cramps (after working for a while). Your vagina then notices that there is something unusual in the vagina and tries to get it out (usually in vain). I then advise you to work with the egg for a shorter period of time, and possibly choose a smaller egg.

Too small:
While you have been working with the egg for a number of weeks, the egg still goes in very easily, without you feeling much. The egg also comes out very easily, and you won't feel much of it either. You also cannot hold the egg with your pelvic floor muscles by pulling up the muscles of your pelvic floor (approximately the same muscles as when you stop your pee (in the middle of your pee)). If you relax (i.e. don't tense your muscles), it may be normal for the egg to come out. This does not necessarily have to be a sign that the egg is too small, this could be a sign that your vagina does not want the egg, or that it prefers if you touch the outer area (kidneys: fear & release) of the vagina with the egg. stimulates, by holding it there with light pressure, or gently massaging, follow your intuition and listen to your body.
